UCGIS Web Site Adds New Features

Communications Committee

The UCGIS web site presents a new design with a cool color background and the US digital elevation model as the centerpiece. The new design is backed by an online database. It allows easy navigation, online registration/payment, and members/delegates updates.

A revised digital UCGIS brochure was also available online http://www.ucgis.org/aboutucgis/ucgisbroc2003.pdf. The brochure presents UCGIS to the public - its missions and goals, research and education priorities, and membership criteria. The brochure is printing friendly and helps members to distribute it at various meetings and occasions.

The web site also added several new features. The Events feature informs members and the general public of the recent and upcoming UCGIS events and other GIS conferences. The News feature includes UCGIS Newsletter, press releases, and other important news of interest to the governments, industry, and the general public. Lastly, the Job feature allows both members and non-members to post GIS jobs at their institutions.

The Communications Committee and the UCGIS central office hope that these changes and additions better serve the members and reach out to the public.
