Breakout sessions with 4 breakout groups discuss  plenary talks and challenges raised scenarios

Convene as whole group and report breakout group discussions and results

Day 2 – Tuesday, Oct 17

Opening by co-organizers

Government panel (2-3 20 mins. presentations by representatives from NGA, CIA, and other agencies + discussion)

Discussions on developing a research agenda. Groups tasked with sections/topics to begin work on outline of research agenda publishable as a report

11:30 am

Breakout groups report back to whole group

12:15 am

Lunch

1:30 pm

Spatio-temporal data modeling I (Peuquet [Presentation] , Shahabi [Presentation], Meliker [Presentation]) Five minute presentations by each – 30 mins slot allows for changing speakers, etc.

Summary discussions in breakout groups of what has been learned and what are open issues. Groups document discussions in outline format for inclusion in research agenda book.

10:00 am

Reconvene as whole group to summarize breakout discussions. Establish final content of research agenda book

10:30 am

Refreshment break

10:45 am

Complete discussions on content of research agenda book, discuss edited academic book. Discuss proposals for follow-up activities and develop working groups on topical areas

12:00 pm

Workshop wrap up and Lunch
