Announcement of Opportunity

We are pleased to support the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) Institute for Geospatial Course Development and Delivery by forwarding information concerning the availability of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development of course modules for inclusion in a Model Curriculum for Remote Sensing. This effort has been funded by a multi-year multi-million dollar grant from NASA and represents a very significant investment in the future education of the imaging and geospatial information sciences.

The goal of the current RFP, the full text of which is available from The University of Mississippi online at http://geoworkforce.olemiss.edu/rfp.htm, is to seek “Course Creation Fellows” to provide course content in their respective areas of expertise. Candidates for these positions will compete for an award stipend of $80,000 each. A total of ten stipends will be awarded in this phase, one for each of the following topics:

  1. Advanced Sensor Systems and Data Collection
  2. Advanced Photogrammetry
  3. Thermal Infrared Remote Sensing
  4. Land Use and Land Cover Applications
  5. Community Growth
  6. Ecosystems Modeling Applications
  7. Water Resources Monitoring and Management
  8. Forestry Monitoring and Management
  9. Topographic Mapping
  10. Business Geographics
