RFP - Homeland Security Workshop Host
UCGIS invites proposals for an institution to host a 1-2 day workshop to
develop a preproposal for research in homeland security. The proposal
should respond to national needs in the homeland security area and be
directed to a targeted agency. The proposal should include a description
of the proposed workshop and the 5-10 individuals that will participate.
The intent of the workshop is to develop a preproposal that will be used
to develop a coordinated research effort to a federal agency for the
benefit of several UCGIS members willing to participate in the larger
team effort.
The budget should include estimated travel costs for selected individuals
(5-10) and publication costs (10 copies). Deliverables include the
preproposal with an outlined plan for the next steps in
moving the
preproposal forward to the targeted agency.
All ideas are welcome. Proposals will be evaluated on the innovativeness
of the proposed topic, the proposer's level of success in obtaining
funding from various funding agencies, proposer's experience in
developing large-scale programs such as centers or institutes, and the
plan for execution of the proposed homeland security research for
targeted agencies.
Applications are due on June 10, 2003. Funding available is $15,000.
Proposals should be submitted to:
