Thomas Cova, Ph.D.
Tom
Cova is an associate professor of Geography at the University of Utah where he
directs the GIScience Certificate Program and the Center for Natural &
Technological Hazards. He received a B.S. in Computer Science from the
University of Oregon and an M.A. and Ph.D in Geography from the University of
California Santa Barbara where he was an Eisenhower Fellow. His research and
teaching interests are in hazards, transportation, and geographic information
science. He currently serves as the Program Chair for GIScience 2008, the Chair
of the AAG GIS Specialty Group and was the Chair of the UCGIS Research Projects
Committee from 2004-2007.
