Implementing ArcGIS Online in Higher Education
Wednesday, April 29, 2015
Category: Webinars
Esri’s ArcGIS Online (AGO) platform supports undergraduate instruction in a variety of ways, with features that include ready-to-use maps, analytic capabilities, domain and activity-specific apps, and administrative tools. With the AGO platform and its related apps, faculty can introduce students to the fundamentals of geographic information systems; engage students in business and community analyses, field data collection, and geodesign studios; and integrate spatial learning into narratives with online story mapping technologies. A principal challenge in rolling out AGO in higher education is user management. Although AGO provides a reasonably robust set of administrative tools, the administrators of an institution’s AGO organizational account will need to develop a set of protocols for managing users. In this Webinar, staff of the Center for Spatial Studies at the University of Redlands will discuss challenges they have encountered, opportunities that have arisen, and solutions that have been developed while integrating AGO into mainstream instruction across campus. Presenters: Staff from the Center of Spatial Studies at the University of Redlands This webinar is premium content and a link to its recording can be found by logged-in Members in the Community Forum section of our website. |
