Workshops and the associated resources that are developed and distributed are at the core of the TRELIS project. Sessions will focus on five themes: Career Trajectories & Leadership, Mentoring & Coaching, Communication & Language, Dealing with Obstacles, and Work-Life Balance, all in the context of the geospatial sciences.

The first TRELIS workshop will take place Saturday May 19, 2018 through Monday May 21, 2018, at the Concourse Hotel in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. Workshop participants will be invited to stay and participate in the UCGIS Symposium that will take place immediately afterwards, from Tuesday May 22 - Thursday May 24, 2018. The Symposium will be co-located with CaGIS's AutoCarto as well.

Participants will be tenured or tenure-track faculty with an emphasis on teaching and/or research in the geospatial sciences. These include geographic information science and systems (GIS), remote sensing, and the mapping sciences. Only individuals at higher education institutions in the US will be eligible.

Travel, food, and lodging expenses will be provided for participants.

A more detailed schedule and application materials will be available in December 2017.
